Principals
Peter A. Morris

Dr. Morris is cofounder of VMN Group LLC, a quantitative consulting company. He holds a faculty appointment as a Consulting Professor in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. Dr. Morris has over 25 years of experience in the research, teaching and application of decision analysis and quantitative modeling.

Prior to starting VMN Group, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Applied Decision Analysis, Inc. until ADA was acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers in August, 1998; subsequently, he served as PwC Partner in Charge of the ADA subsidiary until May 31, 2001. He has been active in the academic and professional communities and served as President of the Decision Analysis Group of the INFORMS professional society.

Dr. Morris has an international reputation in decision analysis. He has published over 30 technical papers and has delivered over 50 invited lectures. His doctoral thesis on expert use introduced the theory underlying the currently most popular decision analysis approach to combining multiple expert judgments. He was appointed to the Senior Seismic Hazard Advisory Committee that used his approach to develop a state-of-the-art process for eliciting and integrating multiple expert judgments for government hazard analyses (applied successfully to earthquake, ground motion, volcanic, ground water contamination and other hazards).
